Cover Music Worth Covering - Free Downloads

Everybody enjoys a good cover song now and then. If a song is truly great, it can sound appropriate in almost any genre with any kind of instrument use or interpretation. The cover song has been around longer than recorded music and I think its pretty cool to hear great bands pay tribute to other great artists and bands.

With that being said, a great song can still be butchered by interpretation. It is also very difficult to find a cover song performed by somebody that you actually prefer over the original band or artist. In my opinion, the songs listed below give a solid effort of re-packaging some great songs to fit their own personal sound. Check them out below to see how you like them.

And just to get the ball rolling here, what is everyones favorite cover songs and who performs them? Leave your comments below!

David Ramirez Covering:
Coldplay - Viva La Vida
Radiohead - Fake Plastic Trees

David Ramirez has been covered on here before and I will continue to keep sharing if he continues to put out these fantastic free downloads. This guy could take any song and make you feel it. And I mean, you will stop what you are doing, fall into your senses, and FEEL it. His music mentally takes you to that solemn place that's rarely visited. His Coldplay cover is really good because he slows it way down and I can say now that I know all of the lyrics to the song. Also, I was thrilled to find out that he covered Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees". To me, this is his kind of song and he owned it.

Katelyn Epperly Covering:
Kings of Leon - Use Somebody

Once again this song is really cool when you slow it down. What makes this different is that Katelyn takes an amped rock song and puts it to a piano. I was feeling this one from the first key and she does an amazing job with it. This is one of those song covers that you can play for your friends and then you can slowly watch them figure out that they have heard this song before and then they will start gushing over how good it is.

Counting Crows Covering:
Madonna - Borderline

I could never ever see the Counting Crows and Madonna ever sharing a stage together. But it sounds like the Counting Crows had a lot of fun performing this Madonna cover. It's not what you would expect, the lyrics aren't dead on, but it sounds great. This is the only cover song that I have heard from this group (unfortunately never seen them live). So I really enjoy this one.

Harper Blynn Covering:
Beyonce - Halo

Another genre crossover for this cover song. You probably all have a good grasp on Beyonce's music styles and dance moves. But now it's time to meet vocal virtuoso's of Harper Blynn. They won't blow you away with their dance moves (I don't think), but they will put you in awe of how they work off of each other vocally. They take Beyonce's "Halo" to a new level.

Madi Diaz Covering:
Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

I caught Madi's Whitesnake cover on a play list shuffle and I stopped because I loved the sound. And until I heard the words "I ain't wasting no more time", I had no idea that it was a Whitesnake cover. This one is fun and I enjoy the rhythm of the bass and the claps as Madi does her thing. Her and her crew added a lot of unique sounds and voices to make this one there own. Take a listen folks.
